How about when people purchase these giftcards, actually GIVE them the code for a valid giftcard so they can get what they actually expected when spending their points on them?

Yea, but problem is that you can't actually redeem those rewards. They're just kinda there as a trophy. A gift card item, but you can't get a real gift card with you know... the money on it!
